Organic and Sustainable Practices
Our seafood is wild-caught and organic, coming straight from the pristine waters of the Great Australian Bight, free from chemicals, pollution and pesticide run off from storm water, and so... by definition, our fish is organic. Our fish is not farmed, but rather wild caught.
We partner directly with our community of dedicated fisher people, prioritising sustainability. Our seafood is never stockpiled or sent to low-cost jurisdictions for processing. Instead, it's snap frozen right beside the wharf where it's brought to -18C within 24 hours of landing, ensuring peak freshness, with no histamines in the flesh that develop in most seafood when processing is prolonged (most seafood is not processed as quickly as ours!).
Unlike many other seafood products that lack transparency, we provide you with the name of the boat your fish came from, guaranteeing authenticity and freshness.
Minimising Waste and Maximising Resources
By portion-packing and snap freezing at the source, we significantly reduce food waste. This practice aligns with our commitment to sustainability, as it helps prevent the 30% food waste typically seen in fresh produce. And, we only fish from a marine area guaranteed and regulated by the Australian government mandating sustainable catch levels.
We have a dedicated commitment to the environment. We're constantly striving to improve our packaging to reduce environmental impact. While we're working towards fully biodegradable packaging, we encourage all our customers to recycle our current packaging to keep it out of our oceans. This small step helps ensure that our delicious seafood doesn’t contribute to pollution.
